Christmas Light Installation in Kanab, UT

We install Christmas lights on homes in Kanab. We supply the lights, hang them, look after them through the season, and take everything down and store it in January.

Kanab is a colder job than St. George

Kanab sits at 4,970 feet, the county seat of Kane County. St. George sits at 2,530 feet. That height shows up in the overnight lows:

Average December low24.6 °F27.9 °F

Kanab’s November nights are already below freezing on average, and the town gets about 22 inches of snow in a normal year. Kanab figures are NOAA 1991–2020 climate normals.

On a lighting job, the cold shows up in the schedule and on the roof.

When should lights go up in Kanab?

October, or the first days of November. By Thanksgiving the average night is below freezing, and a frosty roofline is slower and less safe to work on.

What happens at takedown if there is snow?

In January the date depends on the roof. A north-facing slope still holding snow or ice is a reason to move takedown by a few days rather than rush it.

Why does a cold install take longer?

Plastic clips handled at 25 °F crack more easily than clips handled on a mild afternoon. That is a handling problem for the installer, and it is why the same roofline takes a little longer here.

What goes on the house

  1. The roofline

C9 bulbs cut to your roofline, so nothing hangs off the end.

  2. The entry

Garland and wreaths wired into the same run.

  3. The cords

Cut to length and tucked away: one cord, one outlet, one timer.

Kanab and Kane County

Kanab had 4,683 people at the 2020 Census. It sits right on the Arizona line, seven miles north of Fredonia on US-89A, and it still calls itself Utah’s Little Hollywood for the westerns once filmed around it.

In a town that size a lit roofline is seen from one end of the street to the other. That is why the design walk-through matters. We agree where the lines run and what stays dark before anything goes on the house.

  4. 4Season

    We look after it

A bulb out before a party? Call and we fix it. Wind takes a run down? We re-hang it. We also drive by at night to catch touch-ups early.

  5. 5January

    We take it down

We take everything down in January and store it until next season.

  • You never buy the lights

They stay ours. Next year you can add to the design, change it or scale it back.

  • No multi-year contract

Book one season. Your lights are ready if you want us back next year.

  • Every bulb matches

LEDs shift in color and brightness with use. If a replacement bulb does not match, we replace all the lights on your home, not just the one.
