Two-story stucco and brick home with warm-white permanent LED roofline lighting at dusk

Permanent Holiday Lighting

Permanent lighting is a fixed track of color-changing LEDs installed once, tucked under the eave or into the fascia line, where it is close to invisible in daylight. It runs from an app on your phone. It does Christmas in December, orange for Halloween, red-white-and-blue in July, and warm white accent lighting the other three hundred nights of the year.

You hang it once. You never climb a ladder again, you never store anything, and you never have a December where half the strand is dark.

How it works

Fitted once, then it is yours to play with

Permanent lighting is the same all-inclusive idea as our seasonal service, installed once.

  1. 1Design

    We design it with you

A layout for your roofline, with a few options to choose from. Once you approve it, we handle the rest.

  2. 2Install

    We fit it once

A slim LED channel custom-fitted along your roofline and wired to one outlet. By day it reads as part of the trim.

  3. 3Control

You run it from your phone

Colors, brightness and patterns, down to each individual bulb. Warm white most nights, color when you want it.

  4. 4After

    We stay on call

If a section stops behaving, call us and we come out and put it right.

  • Nothing to hang or store

It stays up all year, so there is no November install and no January takedown.

  • Every bulb is yours to set

Each bulb can take its own color and brightness, so the same roofline does Christmas, game day or plain warm white.

  • Seasonal is still an option

Not sure you want it all year? Our seasonal service covers the same roofline for one season at a time.

What actually gets installed

  • The channel. An aluminum track is fixed along the roofline, under the eave or along the fascia. It is color-matched to the trim so it reads as a shadow line from the street in daylight.
  • The controller and the app. Scenes, schedules, zones, brightness. Set it once and it turns itself on at dusk.

Why people in Utah buy it

Three reasons come up, and none of them are about Christmas.

Roof access. A lot of St. George-area homes have tile roofs, steep single-slope pitches and two-story entries. That is a bad combination for a homeowner with a ladder, and it is the main reason people stop putting their own lights up.

Sun and cold. Desert sun in St. George and ice up north are both hard on anything left outside. A permanent system is built to sit out in it year-round instead of spending eleven months in a hot garage.

It is not just Christmas. Most of the use is not holiday lighting at all. It is warm white on the eave line, on a timer, every night — which is really landscape and security lighting that happens to also do Christmas.

Permanent versus seasonal, honestly

Permanent lighting costs more up front than one seasonal install. It stops costing after that.

Seasonal makes sense if you move often, if you rent, if you like changing the look every year, or if you want the lowest possible first-year number. Permanent makes sense if you expect to be in the house a while and you are tired of the annual job.

We install both, and we will tell you which one fits. If seasonal is the better answer for your house, read Christmas Light Installation.

What drives the cost of permanent lighting?

We don’t publish one price for permanent lighting, because the number is set by your house.

Length is the biggest driver. The quote follows the run of roofline you want lit, so a single-story ranch with one long eave and a two-story house with a lit front and garage will come out very differently.

Complexity is the second. Returns, dormers and level changes break the line into segments, and every break is another cut and another corner. A clean, continuous roofline is cheaper to fit and usually looks better lit.

Paying someone to hang seasonal lights is a smaller bill in year one. It also comes back every November, with a takedown in January. Put the two quotes side by side over the years you expect to stay in the house, not over one season.

Installed year-round

Permanent lighting is not a November job. The channel goes up in any dry weather, so February through October is a better time to book it than the three-week crush before Thanksgiving — you get a longer appointment, a slower walk-through, and your system is already live when the season starts.

Where we install

FAQ

Questions people ask

Something else on your mind? Call (435) 357-0411 and ask us.

Can you see it during the day?

Barely. The channel is color-matched to the trim and sits under the eave, so from the street it reads as a shadow line. It is not a strip of bulbs stuck to the house.

What can it actually do besides Christmas?

Any color, any zone, on a schedule. Halloween, the Fourth of July, a birthday, team colors, or plain warm white every night. Most owners use it as warm-white accent lighting most of the year.

Will it survive the summer here?

That is what it is built for. It is an outdoor-rated system fixed to the house, not a seasonal strand.

What happens if a section fails?

Individual LEDs are addressable, so a fault is a section, not the whole run, and it is repairable in place.

How long does permanent lighting last?

Longer than a seasonal strand, mostly because it is never boxed up for eleven months and handled twice a year. We don’t quote a lifespan or a warranty length on this page. When you compare systems, get the warranty terms in writing and ask whether a failed section can be repaired in place.

Do I still need seasonal lights?

For the roofline, no. Some people still add wreaths, garland or ground displays, and we can do those as a seasonal add-on.
