Christmas Light Installation in St. George, UT

We hang Christmas lights on homes in St. George and the surrounding Washington County towns. We supply the lights, we put them up, we fix them if anything goes out during the season, and we come back in January and take them down.

You do not get on the roof, and you do not store anything.

Why timing in St. George is tighter than people think

St. George sits at 2,530 feet, which is low and warm by Utah standards — but NOAA’s historical record puts the first freezing mornings here around November 12, with roughly sixty freezing mornings a year between then and mid-March. Average low in November is 34.7 °F; in December it is 27.9 °F.

That matters for one practical reason. The comfortable install window — dry, above freezing, and before everyone wants their lights on for Thanksgiving weekend — is effectively October and the first ten days of November, and it is the same fortnight for every installer in Washington County.

Booking in September or October is not an upsell. It is how you get the date you actually want. That is the entire reason the Early Bird discount exists.

St. George roofs are the reason most people stop doing it themselves

The housing stock here is not the housing stock a generic lighting guide is written for. A lot of St. George-area homes have tile roofs, steep single-slope pitches, two-story entries and stucco parapets. Tile is slippery, it breaks under a knee, and it does not take a standard shingle clip.

That is the practical reason people hand this job over. It is not that hanging lights is hard; it is that hanging lights on this kind of roof, in the dark, in November is how people end up in the emergency room.

Everything we hang goes on clips matched to the edge it sits on — tile, shingle, gutter or fascia. Nothing is nailed, screwed or stapled into the house.

The neighborhoods and towns we cover from St. George

We work across St. George itself and the towns immediately around it. They are close enough that they are one service area in practice, not six:

  • St. George a city of about 106,000 (2024 Census estimate) in Washington County, and the base for everything we do.
  • Washington 2,894 feet, about 28,000 people at the 2020 Census. Same climate and same timing as St. George.
  • Santa Clara 2,759 feet, about 8,400 people. Immediately west of St. George.
  • Ivins 3,156 feet, about 9,000 people, the fastest-growing of the four (up 32.9% between 2010 and 2020). Home to Snow Canyon State Park, and the addresses closest to it are also the ones with the most exposed, wind-loaded rooflines in the area.
  • Leeds included in our service area.
  • SunRiver St. George a 55+ single-family community in the south of the city. It is exactly the kind of neighborhood where not owning a ladder is the whole point.

Year-round instead of seasonal

If you like the look but not the annual job, permanent lighting is a fixed color-changing channel under the eave, run from an app, invisible in daylight. See permanent lighting in St. George.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Something else on your mind? Call (435) 357-0411 and ask us.

When should I book for St. George?

September or October. Freezing mornings start around November 12 here and everyone wants lights on before Thanksgiving, so the good dates go early.

Do you work in Washington, Santa Clara and Ivins too?

Yes — and Leeds and Hurricane. They are one service area in practice.

Will clips damage a tile roof?

Not if they are the right clips. Tile needs a tile clip, not a shingle clip forced onto it. Nothing is nailed or screwed into the roof or fascia.

What if my HOA has rules about lighting?

Tell us what they say and we will design to them. Most HOA rules here concern color, timing and how long displays may stay up rather than banning them.

When do you take them down?

January, on a date we schedule with you, and we store them until next season.
